Background

Aktion Deutschland Hilft - Germany's Relief Coalition is a coalition of 13 German relief organisations that provide effective aid in case of large catastrophes and emergencies. Interns will be hosted in the department of quality assurance and projects (https://www.aktion-deutschland-hilft.de/).

Objective

Interns will closely work on different aspects of projects and quality assurance (i.e. project proposals, financing, M&E, standards, quality initiatives), relief and aid projects (joint appeals, project support of MOs etc.) and learning activities (training and personal capacity building etc.) within humanitarian action. Additionally interns will accompany working groups on programme and projects, quality assurance and logistics in humanitarian action and will be involved in planning activities around humanitarian issues (round tables, workshops).

Interns are requested to contribute to the above mentioned working areas.

Candidate profile & qualifications

The position requires a sound knowledge of the German and international humanitarian system.

A good command of the German language is essential. Successful candidates should be team-players and be able to work under time pressure. Ideally, candidates should have an affinity to numbers and calculation (MS Excel) and should have conceptual thinking skills. Curiosity to learn something.

Benefits

Compensation: 600 EUR/month
