We are happy to invite all NOHAs (students, graduates and staff alike) for a social event on the side of the Humanitarian Congress in Berlin.
It will take place on 14 October (Saturday) at 19:00 at LAWRENCE, Oranienburger St. 69, a combination of café, restaurant, gallery, shop and co-working space which prides itself in being a small melting pot of cultures, especially the Arabic, German and European. Its owner, FREEARTUS, drafts and develops new concepts for acceptance, integration and communication. Google Maps location.
FREEARTUS emerged from spontaneous neighborly volunteer work at the temporary refugee emergency shelter Elisabethhaus, Große Hamburger Strasse in Berlin Mitte. Soon after, the volunteers collaborated to organize FREEDOMUS, which provides aid for refugees in Berlin Mitte. Among these volunteers were dozens of artists, designers, journalists, cultural managers, gallery owners, and artistic and theater managers who all came together to offer newcomers activities. More and more newcomers quickly began participating in the offered projects, and programs. In the first six months we organized about 30 concerts and initiated three exhibitions, including WE REFUGEES from Nora Al Badri, who was invited to Hamburg by Viva con agua to the Millerntor Gallery.
